You’re Right Governor Cuomo
You’re right Governor Cuomo! I just read this article from the Wall Street Journal. Andrew Cuomo refuses to resign as Governor after eight allegations of sexual harassment and sending Covid-19 patients to nursing homes resulting in the unnecessary deaths of thousands of residents. Per the article, his reasoning for not resigning is as follows:
The Democratic governor said at a press briefing that the investigations into the accusations should go forward and New Yorkers and politicians should withhold judgment. “There are often many motivations for making an allegation,” Mr. Cuomo said. “And that is why you need to know the facts before you make a decision.”
Withholding Judgement
But, let’s examine Cuomo’s statement as it relates to the recent Trump impeachment scam. According to Cuomo, “the investigations should go forward while New Yorkers and politicians withhold judgement.” By that standard, there should have been an investigation into the January 6th situation and President Trump’s alleged role. And, Americans and politicians should have withheld judgement on President Trump as Cuomo asserts. But, that’s not what happened.
Know the Facts
Cuomo goes on to say that “there are often too many motivations for making an allegation” and “that is why you need to know the facts before you make a decision.” Nancy Pelosi had plenty of motivation to make an allegation that President Trump incited violence on January 6th. But, she didn’t make an allegation. She went straight to guilty. The Democrats in the House of Representatives and a small group of RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) followed along mindlessly with Nancy’s political charade. Did they know the facts before they made a decision? They didn’t need any facts. Their minds were already made up.
According to Cuomo, that was the wrong way to proceed. They should have known the facts before making a decision. Of course, we know that didn’t happen.
Conclusion
A short while ago, I wrote a post about liberal hypocrisy. This is a perfect example. When a liberal governor like Cuomo is under fire, proper procedure should be followed before he resigns. But, when it’s a conservative like President Trump, it’s perfectly fine to bypass proper procedures and assign guilt as quickly as possible.
This is the first, and likely only time, I agree with Cuomo on anything. He should go directly to Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic flock and teach them proper procedures for an investigation. Unfortunately, that’s one dishonest politician teaching a bunch of other dishonest politicians.
