Watching the effects of a Republican majority in the House of Representatives, I’m left wondering something. What if Republicans won the Senate majority? It should have happened in the 2022 midterm elections, but Mitch McConnell made sure it didn’t.
That House
If the Republicans learned anything, there should be 15 votes for every leadership position. So far, Kevin McCarthy is delivering on his promises. I’m holding out praise because he is very capable of going “Democrat” on us at any time.
But, they killed the 187,000 IRS agents, removed people from committees they shouldn’t be on, and initiated investigations into China, and ending the coronavirus emergency declaration. At least Republicans have a level of offense and defense now. They can play defense by voting down any ridiculous bills.
The Result
The result of the House majority is evident to me. Biden has been neutered and suddenly he has to negotiate for things like the debt ceiling. Of course, some of that neutrality is a direct result of his document scandal, which the House wants to investigate. And, I’m sure some of his softer approach is to prevent the House from investigating his son, Hunter, and ultimately him.
I feel like some of the absolute craziness of the past two years is toned down. You don’t hear much about January 6th anymore. But, the Republicans still need to get the political prisoners released. I haven’t heard much about the environmental demise of the earth. The World Economic Forum meeting was a non-event. Basically, the nonsense appears to be on hold for now.
Senate Majority
If we had the Senate majority, Republicans could do two very important things. First of all, they could block judicial nominees that will make liberal judgements. And second, they could put an end to financing and abetting Ukraine. Of course, the Republicans would have to get Lindsey (World War III) Graham in check.
The Ukraine issue is important. The Senate is doing everything it can with Biden to start World War III. If that happens, say goodbye to your family and friends because we are all going up in nuclear flames to help a crooked country we really don’t care about.
Conclusion
Since the Republicans won the House majority, there have been some big wins. I love how it is blowing the minds of Democrats. Welcome to the way we felt for the last two years. If the Republicans also had control of the Senate, the Democrats’ heads would explode. Even Senate Majority Leader Chucky Schumer appears a little hesitant right now. We finally have some sanity.
