Watch The MoneyGoRound

Last modified date

I wrote a post about how the Kinks song Lola was ahead of it’s time. On the same album as the song Lola, there is another song titled “MoneyGoRound.” The song is about how a band in the music business gets fleeced.  The band gets a pittance of the money that’s spent in the business, while footing the bill for almost everything. The same can be applied to us. So, let’s watch the MoneyGoRound.

Why Work?

Why do we work anymore? Do we work to fund Ukraine? How about to build a multi-million dollar facility for the FBI after they infiltrated traditional Catholic churches to find alleged “domestic terrorists?” The majority of our money goes to the government so they can waste it on things without giving us a vote. You might remember that this is called “taxation without representation.” The money we don’t give to the government is used in an endless cycle to give more money to the government. Got it?

Taxes

We work to make money. So, the government swoops in and takes taxes from our money. We pay federal income tax, state income tax, local income tax, municipal income tax in some areas, social security tax, and Medicare. It’s at least 30 percent of my paycheck.

Then, when you buy things, the government taxes you again. For example, when I buy something at the store, they take six cents from every dollar for state taxes. And, the government levies taxes on things like gasoline and cigarettes.

Retirement

I put money into a 401K plan every paycheck. That is an investment for my retirement. But, I can’t withdraw it before retirement age unless I pay early withdrawal fees. When I can withdraw it, I pay taxes on it. So, I work to save for my retirement and the government takes from that money too.

Insurance

I pay for health insurance so I can continue to work without interruption. And, I pay for automobile insurance so I can get back and forth to work.

Car

I pay for a car so I can get back and forth to work. And, I pay for maintenance on the car. I also pay for the gasoline that makes the car go.

Lunch

You have to eat lunch when you work. Whether you bring a lunch or go out for lunch, this is more money you pay to work.

Conclusion

Why do we get up and work every day? We’re like drones pedaling the same bike every day so someone like Joe Biden can give our money away. And, we never get a say. It’s strange when you think about it. We pay for things so we can work to pay for those same things again. It’s an endless cycle.
