Trump Endorsement Phonies

Last modified date

A Trump endorsement is like gold for a candidate. It opens the candidate up to millions of votes and often results in a win. Just ask Governor Youngkin in Virginia. The problem is that some of these candidates use the endorsement to win, then don’t represent the people that voted for them. As you are well aware, most politicians are dishonest. And this is the worst kind. We need to identify these Trump endorsement phonies and make sure they don’t get into office.

Harriet Hageman – House of Representatives

This is the woman we hope will put Liz Cheney out to pasture where she can graze with her other bovine friends. President Trump has endorsed her. But, she has some skeletons in her closet. Especially in 2016. She spoke very highly of Liz, even calling her a “friend.” But worse, she took part in an effort to block Trump from getting the nomination at the Republican National Convention is 2016. She also voted in support of “unbinding” delegates (individual delegates are free to vote for whoever they choose) in a further attempt to block Trump from getting the nomination.

People can change their minds. Especially when it has been six years. Just look at those 81 million Biden voters. It’s also possible that Hageman has changed her tune after watching the tremendous success of the Trump presidency. But, I think we need to watch her closely. She seems like a person who will win at any cost. And, that cost better not be us.

Mo Brooks – House of Representatives

Mo Brooks of Alabama was enjoying the endorsement of President Trump and the MAGA movement for the upcoming midterm election. Then, at a Trump rally of all places, he tells the crowd they need to move on from the 2020 election. The crowd wasn’t very warm to his suggestion. When I watched it, I asked my wife if he said what I thought he said. I told her Trump would drop him the next day. Surprisingly, Trump waited quite a while after that to pull his endorsement. Mo Brooks is not a smart man.

Mitch McConnell – Senate Minority Leader

Mitch McConnell

This is 100% not Trump’s fault outside of trusting someone who is a snake. Trump endorsed McConnell in his last election. His endorsement put McConnell over the top in a tough battle. McConnell thanked Trump by not helping in any way with the 2020 election fraud, ruining the Republican chance of winning back the Senate by fighting for a lower coronavirus stimulus payment to people, and blaming Trump for January 6th.

Conclusion

Despite what anybody says or thinks, President Trump is a nice person who trusts people. In some respects, that was a weakness of his as president. Too often, he trusted people like John Bolton, Anthony Fauci, Dr. Birx and Bill Barr.

I think he’s learning that these politicians are a nest of vipers. And, I think he’s learning to vet these people before he gives his endorsement. Unfortunately, you can’t prevent situations where these people win an election and turn on us all. Politics is a slippery slope.
