Toyota Turns Away Loyal Customers

Last modified date

cancel culture

Toyota reversed it’s decision to continue donating to Republican lawmakers who voted to object to certifying the 2020 election results. Their public relations department tried to spin it, but the bottom line is that the “woke” mob got to them and they succumbed to their threats. I see this differently than others. I don’t see it as Toyota gains new customers by making a smart business decision. I see it as Toyota turns away loyal customers by making an ill-informed business decision.

My Letter to Toyota

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.
P.O. Box 259001

To whom it may concern:

I’m sure you will ignore this letter and probably throw it away. Because, when the cancel culture gets to you, they can do much more damage to you than one of your long time, loyal customers will ever do. Nevertheless, I am disappointed to read that you decided to cease donations to Republicans who opposed the election certification.

Please check your records. My wife, ——, and I have been customers of Toyota for probably twenty years. I estimate that we purchased five Toyota vehicles and leased at least two in that time. We also recommended Toyota to our family and friends, and they purchased and/or leased Toyota vehicles too.

Now, you are forcing us to find an alternative. And we will. I will never understand when a business chooses to prefer one group of customers over another group of customers. I don’t know why you think it’s wise to cut your revenue in half by driving away half of your customers. But, as I said before, I’m sure the liberals are threatening you with boycotts and everything they can throw at you.

Just out of curiosity, did you cease donations to the following Democrats after they opposed the 2016 election certification? I didn’t think so.

  • Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) objected to Alabama’s votes.
  • Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) objected to Florida’s votes.
  • Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) objected to Georgia’s votes.
  • Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) objected to North Carolina’s votes.
  • Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) objected to the votes from North Carolina in addition to votes from South Carolina and Wisconsin. She also stood up and objected citing “massive voter suppression” after Mississippi’s votes were announced.
  • Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) brought up allegations of Russian interference in the election and malfunctioning voting machines when she objected following the announcement of Michigan’s votes.
  • Maxine Waters (D-Calif) rose and said, “I do not wish to debate. I wish to ask, ‘Is there one United States senator who will join me in this letter of objection?'” after the announcement of Wyoming’s votes.

I may be just one little guy. But, I’m one little guy who has been a loyal customer for many, many years. Your decision will hurt me, which I can’t believe you want to do. But, it will also hurt the ———- dealership in ———–, which is where we do all of our business. I can’t believe you want to do that either.

I pose you a challenge. Be one of the first big corporations to stand up to the liberal left and cancel culture. Be more concerned about your long time, loyal customers who got you to this point. Either make donations to everybody or make donations to nobody.

Don’t be bullied. Be brave and stand tall. You can be an industry leader that sets an example for other businesses to stand up to cancel culture. This isn’t just about your business or donations or money in general. This is about America and having the freedom to make your own decisions without fearing consequences.

I hope you will read this and have the decency to respond. I honestly never thought I would have to write a letter like this to you. I thought you were an honorable company that cared about ALL of it’s customers.

Sincerely,

———–

Conclusion

Mike Lindell of MyPillow has been a target of cancel culture

I’m sure many of you might say I’m wasting my time. And, you might be right. When Bed, Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s and Boscov’s decided to pull Mike Lindell’s MyPillow products from their shelves because he spoke out about the election, I sent all of them correspondence. Naturally, I received no response. But, I haven’t set foot in any of their stores since it happened. I don’t care if I end up having nowhere to shop. I’ll stand by my principles and fight for our freedom to say and do what we want whenever we want. This is not communist China.
