The New Republicans
The Republican party has changed drastically in the last six or seven years. The old establishment Republicans are being replaced with the new Republicans. President Trump is transforming the party into a juggernaut. The Democrats know this, and they will do anything to stop him. But, I say good luck to them. Trump is as tough as they come.
New People
To be honest, the Republican party used to be kind of stuffy. But, now it is the party of middle America. It is the party of law enforcement and Christianity. But, most importantly, it is an inclusive party where all are welcome. More and more African Americans, Latinos and Asians are joining the party.
The Democrats have turned their backs on middle America. In fact, they have declared war on middle America. And, they will experience the consequences in November.
The new Republicans are the deplorables that the Democratic party doesn’t want. They are the low lives that the Democrats despise. The Democrats are now the party of elites, and the Republicans are the party of the people. The Republicans changed their party demographic while maintaining their old values. What a beautiful thing!
New Representatives
As I mentioned above, the party demographic change is well under way. But, replacing the old guard Republicans in the House and Senate is going to take time. The Republicans need to be of like mind so they can be united in Congress. As long as we have people like Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski voting with the Democrats, we can’t be the party of middle America yet.
It’s not just new representatives though. The Republican leadership must change. We can vote in hundreds of new representatives, but they are worthless if Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy continue to lead the Senate and House of Representatives respectively.
Conclusion
Do you remember when Michael J. Fox played Alex Keaton on the show Family Ties? The character was an exaggerated young Reagan conservative who loved money and finance. That character would be lost in today’s Republican party. Now, that character would be an exaggerated construction worker.
That’s what has happened to the Democrat and Republican parties. The Democrats are the money and finance party. And, the Republicans are the middle class and patriot party. I like this change. I like that the Republican party is now a party of the people. Best of luck to the Democrats. The path you have chosen isn’t an easy path.
The Republicans are on the right track. Once the plan is complete, the Democrats are going to be sitting on the bench wondering if they will ever get in the game. And they won’t.
