The Generational Phenomenon

Last modified date

Have you heard about the generational phenomenon? The first generation builds it. The second generation enjoys it. And, the third generation destroys it. It certainly applies to a lot of things like education, the government, statues and healthcare. But, I’m going to apply it to automobiles in this post.

First Generation

Prior to Henry Ford’s rollout of automobiles, America had to rely on horses to travel. It would take days and sometimes months to get to a destination.

Ford spent years engineering the automobile. There were plenty of difficulties. But, he overcame all of them. Once built, he made the automobiles available to as many Americans as possible by pricing them reasonably.

Thanks to Ford’s idea and hard work, Americans could now arrive at a destination in minutes and hours. It opened up manufacturing jobs to many because they could commute. This invention crossed the fabric of America.

Second Generation

The second generation of automobile owners enjoyed themselves

The second generation got to enjoy automobiles. As the automobile technology advanced, they could travel at faster speeds and take vacations. Most everybody owned an automobile. And, some people had two automobiles. Racing automobiles became a sport.

You could drive to the grocery store and you could drive to a friend’s house. Drive-in movies became popular. You couldn’t imagine a world without an automobile.

Third Generation

Along came the third generation. That’s now.

Some uneducated idiots have decided that we need to scrap our beloved automobiles and use electric cars. This decision is based on unfounded beliefs that electric cars are better for the environment.

Electric cars have a battery that needs to be charged after a relatively short period of time. Charging takes hours. And, the electric car doesn’t go fast.

So essentially, we will go backwards with this ridiculous idea. It will take longer to get to places because of the speed of the electric car and charging time. It will destroy jobs because commuting will be especially challenging.

The third generation will destroy automobiles. And, they don’t care.

Conclusion

The automobile went from a great invention to a way of life and back to pre-invention days. That’s not how technology is supposed to happen. You people out there that are believers in electric cars, you’re in for the shock of a lifetime. I’m confident that the electric car experiment will fail. Then, people will call for our beloved automobiles again.

The first generation builds it. Thanks Ford! The second generation enjoys it. It made our lives so much easier. And, the third generation destroys it. You are absolute buffoons!
