Don’t you hate it when some dumb entertainer like Robert DeNiro feels the need to share his political views with you? How about when every awards show acceptance speech is a political diatribe? Are you tired of award show hosts making dumb political jokes? What about the NBA (National Basketball Association) painting “Black Lives Matter” on their gym floors? Don’t you hate NFL (National Football League) players taking a knee during the National Anthem? I can go on, but you get the point. To all of them, I say, that’s not entertainment.
Gone Times
You used to be able to watch a movie, television show or sporting event for entertainment. It was a great way to decompress from everyday life for a while. You had favorite actors, television stars and athletes. They were icons we looked up to as fans. And, they earned our admiration because they stayed out of politics and social issues, and just entertained us.
I recently wrote an articleAMP about Roberto Clemente. He died bringing supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. As a baseball player, he entertained us. He didn’t make idiotic claims like President Nixon killed the earthquake victims or that America is racist against Nicaraguans. Clemente was a hero and a true icon. And, a great entertainer.
What about Jessica Lange? I don’t recall ever seeing or reading anything about her political views or her social justice concerns. It’s possible something might be out there. But, if it is, I don’t know anything about it. She is focused on her craft and it shows in her performances. She is so good in American Horror Story. This is an entertainer that deserves our entertainment dollars.
Ladies Without Grace
I didn’t know who Kathy Griffin was until she posted a picture of her holding President Trump’s bloody decapitated head. Of course, Twitter didn’t censor her. Why is she considered an entertainer? I don’t know a single thing she has done other than this idiotic post.
Alyssa Milano is the posterchild for stupidity. I only remember her from the sitcom “Who’s the Boss.” I can’t name one other thing she’s done since, other than pretend to be some kind of activist. She’s another Catholic who supports abortion, despite the church’s teachings. And, she is proud of her two abortions. She is very misguided.
Every time Bette Midler opens her mouth, diarrhea comes out. She ain’t no rose. Bette made movies like a century ago, and not very good ones at that. Now that her acting and singing careers are over, she thinks she has a career in attacking our country. Personally, I think she is craving attention. She stupidly blamed the Texas power outages on Senator Ted Cruz because he objected to the 2020 election. Does that sound like a sane person?
Debra Messing hasn’t done any meaningful acting since “Will and Grace.” Her career fizzled faster than soda pop. So, she seeks attention by making ridiculous political statements. She admits that she wished harm on President Trump and also wished that “he is the most popular boyfriend in prison.” I don’t think a lot more acting opportunities are coming her way.
Thugs
Robert DeNiro is a good actor, but he’s mentally unbalanced. He said that he wanted to punch President Trump in the face during a profanity-laced tirade. The man won’t stay out of politics, despite his severe emotional issues. To be honest, he ruined a pretty good acting career by showing us who he really is.
LeBron James is a good basketball player, but a really dumb person. He thinks he’s the NBA’s political and social ambassador. If he put as much effort into his basketball as he does spewing garbage, he might someday be on the same level as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson. This is another career being ruined for no good reason.
Colin Kaepernick wasn’t a good football player. I think that’s really why he decided to take a knee during the National Anthem. It distracted us from his horrible quarterback play. Now, he believes that he’s a social activist. But, nobody cares anymore. You need a new distraction Colin. What about the current border crisis?
Bruce Springsteen is a good musician, but a public relations nightmare. Commonly known as “The Boss,” he appeals to working class Americans with his music. For some reason, he made the brilliant decision to isolate half of his audience during the 2020 election. His TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) got the best of him when he railed against President Trump and his supporters. I guess he needs attention now that his career is over.
Conclusion
Unfortunately, entertainers have a platform to say whatever they want. That’s called the First Amendment. Most of us Americans don’t have a platform like that. When we share our opinions, we get censored and cancelled. They don’t.
The only way we can fight back against these losers is to stop spending money on them, spread the word about them, and ignore them. For example, don’t watch a Robert DeNiro movie on Netflix, stay away from Alyssa Milano’s tweets, don’t click on anything about any of them on the web, and don’t watch Lebron James in person or on television. I would give similar examples for Kathy Griffin and Bette Midler, but they don’t do anything for us to boycott.
I’m a very principled person. When I write off an entertainer, I give her/him nothing more ever. I used to be a big Jimmy Buffet fan. When I came across an article about him singing and putting down President Trump and his supporters, I vowed that I would never give him one more cent of my money. I never click on any web link about him and I turn the radio to another channel when his song comes on.
If enough people boycott these losers, maybe they’ll get the picture. Note that I didn’t add any links in this post so we don’t give them attention.
