Take Your Party And Shove It
I changed my party affiliation from Independent to Republican so I could vote in the primary election. But, after the midterm election, I changed it back. I have no intention to ever change it again. Republicans and Democrats alike need to say “take your party and shove it.” One party is extreme and the other party is docile. I’ll let you decide which party matches each of those monikers.
Fed Up
Recently, former Hawaii representative Tulsi Gabbard, and current Arizona senator Kyrsten Sinema, became independents. Sinema said that she doesn’t fit well into a traditional party system. She continued saying “This will just be a further affirmation of my style of working across all the political boundaries with anyone to try and get something done.”
Gabbard’s reasoning is different. She said, “I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that’s under the complete control of of an elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness.” She then accused Democrats of “racializing every issue,” “stoking anti-white racism,” demonizing the police and “dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.”
Gangs
Our current two party system reminds me of the bloods and the crips. The Republicans and Democrats hate each other. Democrats vote Democrat and Republicans vote Republican (except for some Republicrats).
Our lawmakers don’t work together to solve problems. And, they don’t care about the people they represent. They don’t communicate with each other. And, the end result is that we get one-sided legislation.
This is why everyone should change to independent status. If everyone leaves the Republican and Democrat parties, then it will level the playing field and we won’t have any more one party rule. People will have to work together. Basically, the people will have more power than they do in individual parties.
What If?
Let’s play a “What if?” game. What if every Republican except for the ten percent fringe nut cases left the party and became Independent? And, what if every Democrat except for the ten percent fringe nut cases left the party and became Independent?
Then 80% of non-fringe American voters would be Independent. The fringe nut cases would never win. And, we would have a government that must work together for all of us. But, most important, the people would take back control of the government.
Conclusion
Our two party system no longer works. It is broken beyond repair. And, division is tearing our country apart. Something needs to happen. And, rallying as Independents could solve the problems. The only drawback I see is that one-party rule could be a detriment. For now though, I think it’s the only way to unite the country.
