Some Random Thoughts
Last week was a busy week of news. I took some time at the end of the week to step back and think about what happened. Here are some random thoughts from last week’s news.
Steelers
After being embarrassed by the 49ers in the first week of the season, it looks like the Steelers are headed for another 9-8 season. Kenny Pickett looks like one of those outstanding college quarterbacks that can’t perform at that same level in the NFL. If I hear one more time about how head coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season, I’ll scream. It’s like saying that someone has never had a failing grade when they get slightly above a failing grade. I hate mediocrity and the acceptance of it.
Trump
President Trump was interviewed by Megyn Kelly. He told her that if he goes to jail on the bogus indictments against him, it will be worth it to save our country. And, nearly half of our country despises this man. If this statement doesn’t change your mind about Trump, nothing will. He cares more than any president since Abraham Lincoln.
Impeachment
Biden is squirming and running scared about the impeachment inquiry. He knows that they are going to nail him. The Republicans are slow walking the process. That might not be a bad thing. The longer they can keep Biden off balance, the more he will be distracted. And, our country can take a breath.
Wins
The conservatives had some wins. Unvaccinated Novak Djokovic won the U.S. Open tennis championship. A judge overruled the New Mexico governor’s unconstitutional attempt to ban guns. Hunter Biden was indicted on three counts regarding lying on his firearm application (although I highly doubt anything will ever come of it). And, the mayor of New York City knows what it feels like to be a border state. The concept of a sanctuary city/state has gone down the toilet.
Kennedy
Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana read excerpts from the children’s books “Gender Queer” and “All Boys Aren’t Blue” into the Senate record during a Senate Judiciary hearing. When I watched it, I was on the floor. These books are pornography, and they should be sold in adult book stores only. Parents need to stand up to this garbage. Check these books out of the library and never return them.
Boebert
Representative Lauren Boebert went to a show with her boy friend who identifies as “Democrat.” She thought it would be a good idea to vape during the program. A pregnant woman behind her asked her to stop. Boebert took offense to the request and told the woman she wouldn’t stop. Then, security had to come and remove Boebert and her friend. Of course, Boebert yelled “Do you know who I am?” Can you say “career over?”
Conclusion
I’m just waiting for the next time the Republican representatives and senators screw me again. But, I like what I see in the conservative people. It looks like they are catching on to the Democrat games. I think the Trump indictments have woken a lot of people up and called them to action. I know it did for me. We’ll see how next week goes.
