So Glad I’m Not A Republican

Last modified date

Ronna McDaniel completed the trifecta today. Before the midterm election, Mitch McConnell was the Republican Senate leader, Kevin McCarthy was the Republican House of Representatives leader, and Ronna McDaniel was the chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC). After a disappointing midterm election, Mitch McConnell is the Republican Senate leader, Kevin McCarthy is the Republican House of Representatives leader, and Ronna McDaniel is the chairman of the RNC. I’m so glad I’m not a Republican. What a messed up party!

Failure is Rewarded

Kevin McCarthy is a failed leader in the House of Representatives

It’s a stench on both parties. Failure is rewarded. Just look at Biden and Kamala Harris.

But, that stench permeates through the Republican party. Why didn’t any Republican step up for Senate leader and Speaker of the House. I love Matt Gaetz, but you can’t complain if you aren’t willing to step up yourself. The only thing I can think of is that no Republican wants a leadership job because the job sucks. Or, the Republicans are lazy and just want to keep their “easy” roles.

If I failed miserably like McConnell, McCarthy and McDaniel have, I would be looking for another job. Keeping those three is what I call “government rot.” It’s all about them, their power and their money. They don’t care about us AT ALL. And, they don’t ever consider what we want. They do what they want, and they don’t care if it hurts us. These representatives are supposed to represent us, but that doesn’t happen anymore.

Status Quo

The Republicans remind me of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are in a perpetual 9 wins to 8 losses cycle. And, the most aggravating thing is that they don’t do anything to elevate the team to get better. Their offense was ranked 26th out of 32 teams this past season. So, what did they do? They brought back the failed offensive coordinator for next season. Sound familiar?

The Republicans are a bunch of “do nothings” who are satisfied with their below average leaders. Rather than make some changes at the top to improve, they are content to remain below average. The problem is the Republican senators and representatives don’t pay the price for mediocrity. We do!

And For These Reasons

And for these reasons, I’m out. I switched my party affiliation to Independent after the midterms. The Republicans have given me no reason to reconsider that decision. If they ever decide to improve, I might reconsider. But, that will NEVER happen. I actually enjoy my “independence.” Now, when the Republicans do stupid things, I can separate myself from it. I still maintain all of my “Republican” values, and I don’t get as angry when the Republicans trample all over those values.

I have heard this term “uni-party.” It’s so true. But, this is how it works. The Democrats run the show, and the Republicans give in to all of their ridiculous ideas. Like providing billions of dollars to Ukraine and passing the Omnibus spending bill. I don’t support either of those things, but the “uni-party” (Democrats and spineless Republicans) doesn’t care about the people.

Conclusion

No plan. No desire. And, no motivation. No concern. No backbone. And, no creativity. The Republicans are lapdogs for the Democrats. And, they don’t care. Just let me keep my cushy government job and benefits. Please don’t ask me to do anything for my constituents. But, if the Democrats ask me to do something, I’ll leap over the highest fence for them. And, that describes the Republicans and why I will remain an Independent for good now.
