Narcissistic Civilizations Fail

Last modified date

If you look back at the history of civilization, narcissistic civilizations fail. They never win. And, they always get their comeuppance. God loves humility, and he despises arrogance. Here are some examples of civilizations that got too big for their britches and were brought down.

Sodom and Gomorrah

Sodom and Gomorrah were legendary biblical cities. The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was grave, ongoing, lawless and sensuous activity. Also, it was oppressing marginalized groups, murder, theft, adultery, idolatry, and power abuses. Lastly, the inhabitants desecrated their bodies with tattoos and piercings. Does this sound familiar?

Then, God rained sulfur and fire on the cities destroying everyone but a few chosen people that did not partake in the evil. And, that was the end of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Inca Empire

In 1533, the Inca empire was the largest in the world. Their massive empire was a politically fragile and loose integration of conquered states whose were subservient to Inca military dominance and the taking of hostages. Unpopular taxes were extracted in the form of goods or service (military and general labor), and the people had to welcome new communities of people more loyal to their overlords. They also imposed their religion and art on the people. Finally, they constantly fought among themselves and they were subject to epidemics from Europe. Does this sound familiar?

And in the end, they were conquered by Europe.

Roman Empire

The fall of the Roman empire is well documented. Some of the reasons include a severe financial crisis, the division of the empire into two factions, military overspending, government corruption and political instability and loss of traditional values. Does this sound familiar?

And, these reasons resulted in the fall of the empire and the loss of their power in the world.

Societal Collapse

Illegals are crossing our southern border at an alarming rate

In order to understand this better, we need to explore societal collapse.

Societal collapse is the fall of a human society characterized by the loss of cultural identity, the downfall of government and the rise of violence. Possible causes of a societal collapse include natural catastrophe, war, pestilence, famine, economic collapse, population decline and mass migration. A collapsed society may revert to a more primitive state, be absorbed into a stronger society, or completely disappear.

Does this sound familiar to you? This is exactly what we’re seeing in the United States right now.

Conclusion

The United States has a lot of the characteristics of fallen civilizations and societal collapse. I think we can see the playbook of the World Economic Forum. I would liken the United States to the Roman empire and Inca empire when they were at their peak. People need to pay attention to this because we are headed toward a serious decline. And, a lot of people will have no idea until it happens.
