Matt Gaetz is an American Hero
We finally have a representative in Washington D.C. that cares about us. Someone who isn’t afraid to take on the Republican establishment to make things better for his constituents and all of us. Matt Gaetz is an American hero. And, I appreciate everything he has done for me and my family.
Background
Former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy was doing nothing that the voters wanted. So, Gaetz called him out on it. After McCarthy submitted to the Democrats on a budget bill and secretly made a deal to send Ukraine more money, Gaetz introduced a motion to vacate the speaker. The motion passed, and McCarthy is no longer the speaker.
Upstream
It isn’t easy to swim upstream. Especially in a swamp. But, Gaetz isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo. It made a lot of establishment Republicans angry. That is exactly what should have happened. I have had it with these “good old boys” doing nothing and looking the other way on issues that are important to me. We need more representatives like Gaetz. Governing has to include debate and questioning. Unfortunately, most of the Republicans are afraid to do this. They live in fear that they won’t be re-elected to their cushy government job. Gaetz is willing to take that chance because he cares. That’s a hero!
Target
Rather than appreciate that Gaetz is willing to challenge and question the Republican speaker and agenda, he will surely have a target on his back now. You don’t challenge the Republican establishment without severe revenge. Just ask Madison Cawthorn.
Remember this Matt. A lot of the Catholic saints were persecuted. And, President Trump is being persecuted. You are in very good company. You did the right thing and the American people love you for it. Just like we love Trump for everything he does. You are true representatives for all of us.
Conclusion
When I read that one of Gaetz’s fellow Republican representatives is angry with him, I laugh. When did it become unacceptable to challenge and question in a debate? I believe these Republican representatives are either envious that they don’t have the courage to do what Gaetz did or they don’t belong in the government. We are tired of the status quo. The Republicans might not maintain the majority in the House of Representatives in 2024. So, time is wasting away to do something significant.
I’m not surprised that McCarthy was vacated as speaker. I always thought he was a lifetime government bureaucrat. Gaetz did the right thing before it got too late. He is a hero no matter what anyone else says or does.
